Test Points

IndySoft's Test Points tab is quick and easy to use. Enter established test point data, or use IndySoft's test-point-results data. If your test point data is in an Excel spreadsheet, you can select the document and use it during the calibration event as the test results. There are several ways to use test point data — this page covers setting up a basic test point result screen.

  • Test Point Duplicator
  • Edit Multiple Rows

tip

You can also set up test points by typing the information per line and column.

To enter test points manually, click the Toggle Default Tolerance icon Toggle Default Tolerance icon on the far left of the test point toolbar. The tolerance dialog box opens.

note

To add additional tolerance types, you'll need access to the system-wide settings under the Tolerance Formulas tab. More information is available in the system preferences guide.

Now set up the data:

Tolerance dialog

  1. Set Tolerance Type to Asymmetrical. This lets you enter a plus and minus tolerance value for each test point.
  2. Set the tolerance to 0.25 for each type.
  3. Set Default Unit of Measure to Millimeters (mm).
  4. Set Default Resolution to 3 — the number of digits to the right of the decimal point.
  5. Save the test point information.

Enter the following information into the test point grid:

  • Description — Test 1
  • Standard — 25 (then arrow down)
  • Standard — 30 (then arrow down)
  • Standard — 35 (then arrow down)
  • Standard — 40 (then arrow down)
  • Standard — 45 (then arrow down)
  • Standard — 50 (then arrow down)
note

These values do not reflect real test point data. They're examples to demonstrate how plus and minus tolerances work when values are placed in the Standard field.
