Using the Search-By Menu for Simple Searches

IndySoft Commercial Lab Management's Search-By features give quick and easy access to gage data. When you select a Search-By option, just begin typing the first few numbers or letters — IndySoft automatically narrows the data down using what you typed. This page walks through two simple search types.

Type / Sub-Type

To search by type, select Search/Report → Legacy Search By → Type/Sub-Type from the main-screen menu.

As you type, the list narrows by the letters you've entered. It only takes a few keystrokes to find what you're looking for. In this example, typing TEN narrowed the list to all equipment containing those letters. Select the exact equipment you need and click OK — the information is then available on the main screen. These searches also include the option of selecting the sub-type for a particular piece of equipment.

Manufacturer / Model

Search-By works the same way for manufacturer and model number. Select Search/Report → Legacy Search By → Manufacturer / Model # from the main-screen menu.

As you type the manufacturer name, the list narrows by the letters you've entered. In this example, typing NO narrowed the list to all manufacturers containing those letters. Select the item you need and click OK — the information is then available on the main screen. These searches also include the option of selecting the model number for a given manufacturer.
