Getting Started
Once you've purchased EasyCert, setup is straightforward — just a few steps.
1. Create or modify stickers to house your EasyCert QR code
As an administrator (or any user with sticker-design permissions), you can modify your stickers from the primary application.
Before you open PrintBuilder, find a piece of equipment in your database that has a Calibration-type event in its equipment history. Right-click that event and choose Use Event When Designing in PrintBuilder. This gives you test data to use while designing in PrintBuilder.

Right-click an event and choose "Use Event When Designing in PrintBuilder"
From the admin panel, click PrintBuilder and either create or edit an existing sticker template. (Packing slips, receipts, and certificates can also be used for this purpose.)
Once your template is open, look for the EasyCert QR-code icon in the toolbar:

Click the icon, then click within the template to add the EasyCert QR-code object. Once the QR code is in the template, you'll likely need to adjust its size — expand the QRCodeSettings group on the left properties panel and set the size from there. Adjusting the size by dragging the corners or sides won't have the desired effect.
The EasyCert QR code is designed to be readable by an iPhone when printed at half-inch sticker size or larger.
If you completed the Use Event When Designing in PrintBuilder step before opening PrintBuilder, you should be able to scan the QR code directly from the preview or design tab to see the basic asset information and the most recent certificate.

- Not enough horizontal space on your sticker? Open File → Page Setup, choose the Paper Size tab, and adjust the page Width.
- EasyCert QR codes always have the same number of characters. If the QR code fits at design time, it will always fit on the printed sticker.
2. Establish your security preferences
Depending on your use case, you may or may not require a login to access EasyCert information. IndySoft offers three options:
- EasyCert access requires a login system-wide. (This is the default behavior.)
- EasyCert access requires a login per equipment company.
- EasyCert access is blocked per equipment company.
As a system administrator, navigate to System-Wide Preferences to choose between system-wide and per-company authentication. EasyCert authentication defaults to system-wide. If you switch to per-company, EasyCert information can be accessed without credentials unless explicitly configured to require them for a particular equipment company.

If using per-company authentication, the company tab gives you options to require authentication for EasyCert access for that organization, or to disable EasyCert functionality for that company entirely.

3. Create stickers and scan!
As a system administrator, you can now adjust your events in Workflow Configuration to use the new or modified sticker templates. We recommend using the dedicated Sticker Template field in your equipment view and mapping it into the events that print stickers.
