Event Information

In addition to adding equipment, actions can be designed to allow user-specific inputs that update related equipment dynamically. The event-information screen can appear as the 1st step, the 2nd step, or not at all.

IndyGo events are designed to be simple transactions that generally don't require much (or any) employee training. The fields that can be accessed and manipulated are:

FieldEditable in IndyGo?
EmployeeYes
DepartmentYes
LocationYes
SubLocationYes
Location (To)Yes
Event DateDisplay only
Event TimeDisplay only
Location (From)Display only

Fields can be used similarly to IndySoft client events — values can be defaulted once equipment is added, and field values can update specific equipment characteristics.

Selecting event field values

You can select event field values in up to three ways:

  1. Tap to search — pulls up a list for the user to select from. Result sets lazy-load to avoid time lags for large datasets. Lists for related fields are looked up by field type.

  2. Scan a QR code with the device's native camera for the related value.

  3. Scan a barcode with the external device's native barcode scanner — generally the most efficient way. When you land on the Event Information screen, the user can always scan the top value without tapping that field. Other fields below must be tapped to enable scanning their codes.

Scanning or selecting a value for these event fields must always be validated against a list — free-form entry is prohibited for any field except Notes.

Company-list lookup logic

The logged-in user's lists for fields like Department, Employee, and Location are based on:

  1. Default company values for that field — only default companies saved for the related logged-in user's DEFAULT location are used. (Example User/Location Settings)
  2. Last accessed company — if no default company exists, the last company the user accessed in the main system (after official logout) is used.
  3. Logged-in employee's company — if neither of the above is set, the employee company of the logged-in user is used for the list.

No blank fields

Whether the Event Information screen is first or second in your IndyGo action, no fields may be left blank to finish or proceed to Add Equipment — except the Notes field.
