Search

The IndyGo Search screen is the place to look up key asset information — including the most recent valid calibration certificate, custom information, and the calibration due date. Users can also update the primary equipment photo, pair and unpair assets with RFID tags, and Locate equipment.

Searching for equipment

There are up to five methods for searching and looking up equipment:

Search screen

Search screen

  1. Type to search for related assets. Type-search looks for matching IDs, serial numbers, and descriptions. It's supported on all devices and uses lazy loading to avoid loading too many assets at once — only the top 10 matches show by default in a larger result set. Scroll down to load more (10 at a time), or refine the search by typing.

  2. Scan an asset's QR code with the device's native camera. Click the icon in the upper-right to launch the camera.

    note

Barcodes need to be either the GAGE_SN field or the distinct combination COMPANY~GAGE_SN to scan directly.

  3. Sweep the room with a supported UHF barcode scanner. RFID scans from this screen only support maximum-power continuous scanning — when the trigger is pressed, the scanner runs at full power for as long as it's held. Each new trigger press clears the current list. Only devices paired with tags in the IndySoft database appear.

  4. Scan a barcode with a supported native barcode scanner. If RFID mode is enabled, the user sees options for both the native barcode scanner and the RFID scanner. If RFID isn't available, the native barcode scanner (if detected) is enabled by default but isn't shown explicitly.

  5. BLE search — if BLE Tag Options is enabled, any asset paired with a BLE tag and in proximity can be displayed for connection and viewing.

Search result fields

Items in search can display up to five key pieces of information:

  • Unique ID
  • Company (if enabled in settings)
  • Gage description
  • Due date
  • Whether the asset is paired with an RFID tag (parallel-arrows icon)

By default, the due date shown is the calibration due date, but a setting in the IndySoft client can alter this.

note

Due dates are not displayed if PM or Task-type schedules are used — only traditional schedules show. (Specifically, SCHEDGI.TASK_ID = '0'.) Schedules that are due or past due appear in red. The Workflow Configuration system-wide options can also configure assets that are coming due to appear in orange.

Tap any asset from the search results to view more detailed information. The visible fields and their order can be set at the system-wide level in Workflow Configuration.

Pairing and unpairing assets

If a user has permissions and the device has RFID capabilities (or BLE Tag Options is enabled), the user can pair unpaired assets with tags. See Pairing Assets with Passive and Active Tags.

Locate equipment

If an RFID-capable device is paired with a passive tag and Kiosk Mode is disabled, the Locate option appears at the bottom of the Equipment Details screen. In this mode, hold down the trigger to get a relative proximity to the tag from the reader.

The signal strength depends on the output power, the size and type of tag, interference (liquid, metal, etc.), the tag's orientation relative to the antenna, and the distance from the tag. The percentage generally increases as you head toward the tag.

note

Always reference manufacturer recommendations for UHF RFID tags.

View Cert

Quickly view the PDF of the most recent certificate. Certificates only show if they:

  • Are PDFs
  • Are not pending document sign-offs
  • Are not archived

Only the single most recent certificate that meets these criteria is displayed.

Update the primary photo of the asset

If the user has the proper permissions, they can take a picture of the asset using the mobile device.

Connecting with BLE tags

Assets paired with an Active BLE tag can be connected to from the detailed view. If that tag is the IndySoft Timing or Light-Up tag, you can turn on the tag's light once connected.
